Responding to The Crisis in Haiti
On August 14, 2021 a magnitude 7.2 earthquake struck southwestern Haiti, followed by Tropical Storm Grace, leaving at least 2,000 dead and 12,000 injured. Homes, schools, churches and hospitals have been destroyed. The region was already in crisis due to COVID-19 and growing concerns of hunger and food insecurity. The humanitarian needs are urgent.
Oxfam and its Humanitarian Coalition partners are already on the ground helping communities cope with the consequences of the earthquake and other crises that could arise.
More than 600,000 people are in urgent need of food, water and shelter. Now more than ever, we need your support.
Please donate today and your gift will be MATCHED.
**The Government of Canada will match every donation made by individual Canadians to the Humanitarian Coalition and its members between August 16 and September 3, 2021, up to a maximum of $2 million dollars.
