Famine has been confirmed in Gaza Governorate as of August 15, 2025, and is projected to spread to neighbouring areas by the end of September.

After more than 22 months of devastating conflict and blockade, more than 500,000 people in the Gaza Strip are facing catastrophic conditions, including starvation, destitution, and death. Another 1.07 million people are on the brink of famine.

Despite a brutal siege, ongoing violence and genocide – Oxfam teams in Gaza are doing all they can to support this crisis while living the nightmare.
